New year, new you? Thought so.. Me neither! Why change, when things are already half fabulous?
That said, why stop having all the cake and all the fizz just because Christmas is over? My first post of the year is all about swooning over the Georgian Restaurant in Harrods– if you haven’t been, afternoon tea here is a must.
A recent fad in London seems to be the unlimited prosecco brunch, and hey.. I am definitely not complaining!
Forge & Co. was the first one I came across on Shoreditch High Street, but getting a reservation there on Saturday seems nigh impossible.. But after a little email to their front desk team, they pointed me in the direction of their newer site, hidden on the first floor of Heals, Tottenham Court Road.
After what had already seemed like a jam packed day we arrived at Utopia 126, the venue to host the night ahead, that had been transformed into a Brockmans wonderland by set designer, Maria Puig.
To start the evening, we were whisked off in our posh minibus to a darling restaurant across town, Nuba.
We stepped off the bus to dimly lit staircase leading up to epitome of “posh holiday restaurant”. There were outdoor, garden areas, 2 big bar sections and our private dining room, all surrounded by beautifully coloured foliage.
One single day in Barcelona.
Hand luggage only.
Dress code- “cool and funky“.
Now let me tell you, I struggled.
The joy of surprises! If you’re not a big fan of them, then this trip wouldn’t have been for you.
Personally I love surprises! After a delightful flight and breakfast I had every faith in our hotel being a joy too. Our mini bus pulled up to the 4* TRYP Barcelona Condal Mar Hotel (part of the Melia hotel group) and as I was too busy soaking up the vitamin D outside I was last to check in.
Well, well.. where do I begin? I was lucky enough to be invited by Brockmans gin to enjoy ‘A Night Like No Other’ in glorious Barcelona on 18th November, and by George did they deliver!
It may have only been 24 wee hours, but to make it easier to digest, I have split the trip into bite size chunks to make for an easier read.. enjoy!

Mid-September I decided to treat myself to some “Happy Mail”- a little something to look forward to from Mr Postman come October. I don’t know about you, but I love getting post, (probably because of my granny nature), and Lucky Dip Club enables you to get something that isn’t a bill, through the letterbox every month.

I haven’t been to the Lake District in a few years, but after going as a child, you always associate it with fond memories.
This time, I was heading to a valley I’d never been to before, Great Langdale, and staying at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel.
After missing the last one in March on the Southbank, I was determined to make it down to the Classic Car Boot Sale’s new spot at Kings Cross.
